Smith Family

It has been such a pleasure getting to know the Smith family over the last year. I first met them when they welcomed their beautiful twins into their family. They came to the Details studio, Mama, Daddy, Big Sister, and two beautiful little newborns – one boy and one girl. They were the best little babies and made photographing a twin session seem like a breeze. I wrapped them up snugly and we passed them around, back and forth, photographing each separately and the two together. One of my favourite images will always be the two of them snuggled up together in the crib holding little tiny felted stuffies.
I had the pleasure of photographing them again as they grew. They were so close to sitting when they came back. This time, they were full of energy, keeping me and their Mama on our toes as we tried to keep them together in one spot! Their personalities were beginning to shine through, with Evan being full of smiles, and Bridget the more serious of the two.
As their first birthday was approaching, Mama contacted me to schedule another session. This time, we would meet at Rock Glenn and do their session outside on a beautiful fall day. The leaves hadn’t really begun to change colour yet, but the scenery was gorgeous nonetheless. We travelled around the park, stopping at different spots along the way – an old bridge, the wooden walkways through the trees, gravel paths, and even all the way down to the water.
We tackled the stairs, making the long trek down to the bottom to see the water. The falls were beautiful, as always. The water was clear, but frigid cold, as it rushed over the top of the falls and down across the rocks below. The kids were all fascinated and took some time to check things out and look around before they could focus on picture taking again.
We headed back up to the top where Daddy pulled an antique tricycle from their truck. This tricycle has been passed down through the family and many children have had their picture taken on it throughout the years. It was the perfect prop for a few first birthday photos for the twins! And even Big Sister had to take a turn sitting on it for a minute.
It was so great seeing you all again! Thank you for inviting me to spend some time together to capture some precious moments of your growing family. I hope to see you all again soon!
