Noah – cake smash session

It’s baby’s first birthday,
A milestone year.

I was so happy to finally meet sweet Noah.  His Mama had contacted me a while back to book his wintery ONE-derland first birthday session.  I piled fake snow, cut out paper snowflakes and hung twinkle lights, preparing the studio for his special day.  I picked up the most gorgeous blue and white giant cupcake from my favourite baker, Sprinkles and Swirls, and his Mama ordered him an adorable outfit to match.

I greeted them at the door and immediately he smiled at me.  I knew we were going to have fun together!  We started off his session with some milestone photos.  He was so proud to sit up by himself on my little white wooden bed, and crawled around as quickly as he could once we let him down for some photos on the floor.  He had the most beautiful smile, which he shared with me over and over!

Next, it was time for cake.  We were so excited and Mama was sure he was going to dig right in since he loves snacking away on food at home.  To our surprise, he shed a few tears at first.  Perhaps he was unsure of what this giant blue swirly thing was that we sat in front of him, or maybe because he wasn’t sure how he would eat the whole thing before it was time to go!  With a little encouragement, and the help of a wooden spoon, he began smashing away, eating a few tiny bites that Mama helped get to his mouth, and showing me that beautiful smile again.

When he had had enough time with his cake, I filled up my favourite little clawfoot bathtub for him.  Some warm water and bubbles were exactly what he needed!  He happily played away, splashing the water with his hands and kicking his feet around to make little waves.

Happy birthday, sweet Noah!  It was so wonderful to meet you!  I hope you have an amazing birthday and a magical year ahead!!  Thank you for joining me to celebrate your special day.
