Baby Naya – newborn session

Sweet baby Naya travelled to come see me at the studio for her newborn session.  I was so happy to meet her!  When she arrived, her big brown eyes popped open.  I wrapped her up and started her session as she looked around, occasionally stopping to gaze right into the camera.  She was sweet and calm and still, happy to just look around for a while.  I loved seeing her beautiful eyes looking up at me.

After some milk, a few diaper changes, some wrapping and rocking and gentle shushing, sweet Naya finally fell asleep.  Once she was out, she was jelly in my hands.  I changed her wraps and props and even got her unwrapped and posed without her barely making a peep.  I fell in love with her dark curly hair and perfect soft baby skin.

Naya’s Mama was open to any colour for her session so I had fun picking out a variety of different wraps, headbands and props from my collection.  I love when I look through a final gallery and can see a whole rainbow of colours!  Everything looked amazing, but baby Naya stole the show with her sweet plump cheeks and adorable back rolls.

I stopped part way through her session, while she was in her deepest sleep, to make sure I took some photos of Naya and her Mama together.  I did some of the more traditional Mom & Baby poses that I do with my newborn family sessions, but Mama also had made a request for some more dramatic poses of baby Naya in her hands in black and white.  I’m so glad she did because I absolutely love them!

Congratulations on the birth of sweet baby Naya!  It was so great meeting your family and thank you for making the drive out to see me.  It was such an honour to photograph her newborn session for you.
