Maryjean – cake smash session

I was so excited to hear from Maryjean’s Mama again. They had been to the Details studio about a year ago when Maryjean was just a tiny little newborn. I couldn’t believe a whole year had passed and that she was celebrating her birthday already! I had little flashbacks from her session – how petite she was, so adorable, and so peaceful during her newborn session.
Mama already had a vision in her head of what she wanted Maryjean’s cake smash to look like – a magical fairy tale land for her little girl, complete with a beautiful tutu and unicorn cake. I couldn’t wait to put everything together! A beautiful rainbow backdrop with fluffy clouds and strings and strings of fairy lights, it was perfect! Mama had found the most perfect tutu outfit with a little unicorn on the front and a matching hat. It was SO adorable, although Maryjean wasn’t too fond of the hat and let out the most adorable little cry when Mama first put it on her.
But the tears only lasted a second as she turned her smile back on quickly and even kept her hat on for a while!
Mama brought the most amazing unicorn cake. We placed it down in front of her and it only took a second before she had her hands stuck right in! She was very dainty and delicate at first, just patting the top layer of icing and playing with the unicorn’s ears. She made the most adorable little lip pucker as she tasted the icing off of her fingers.
She enjoyed the bath almost as much as the cake. Her Mama scooped up her hair and made the most adorable little mohawk on the top of her head. She splashed the water around, making a wonder little mess, all with that same big smile on her face.
It was so great to see you again, Maryjean! I am so happy Mama brought you back to the studio to celebrate your first birthday. We had so much fun in our time together and it was so wonderful seeing how much you have grown. I wish you the most wonderful year to come.
